Whether you call it Ductile Iron, Spheroidal Graphite (SG) Iron or Nodular Cast Iron, DI is the most requested material in our sourcing work with foundries in Thailand, India, Vietnam, Turkey, Taiwan and everywhere we work.

Our win rate on ductile iron projects in Southeast Asia and South Asia is probably the highest of all the cast metals, meaning that our clients find the costs acceptable while we guarantee the quality by doing what we do. Owing to this, and to the nature of the metal casting industry, we also have the widest range of foundry options in Ductile Iron casting.

We get asked to use all manner of grades for different things. Quite often, 65-45-12, but also 120-90-02 and others case by case. Of course we verify chemistry on our end independently during sample development, first article runs and production runs. We trust our foundry partners, but we also verify, because honest people make mistakes too, and you can't afford to have your ductile iron castings from Thailand, India, Vietnam or anywhere spend a month or so in production, another month and change on the water and a week getting to you only to find out that they've got issues with porosity, elongation, tensile or anything that we could have caught, fixed and prevented on our end.

We're Americans, like our clients, but we live overseas and have for a long time.
